My name is Phil Murray of the Cumbrian police force. Some years ago we purchased a portable mast and other equipment from Total Mast Solutions. We have used it on numerous scenes of incidents and accidents and it has proved to be very effective, reliable and easy to deploy.

It has provided us with invaluable information and images which could not have been available to us in any other way. It saves huge expenses in air time for our helicopter, which on some occasions could not have been used due to adverse weather and we have also found that the downdraft from the rotors can destroy valuable evidence.

We recently called Simon Bourne, the M.D., as we have a requirement to use video equipment on the mast instead of our stills camera. Simon asked what video kit we already had and talked us through a simple method of using our existing equipment.
