Simon, the MD of Total Mast Solutions, called me the other day and asked if I would do the show photography at the Focus on Imaging exhibition at the National Exhibition Centre with them as they have again won the show photography contract. As they were also exhibiting their equipment at the show he could have simply got one of his own staff to do it and pocketed the money, but he didn’t. The job basically entails using a small portable mast and buggy system to take fairly low overhead shots of the exhibitors doing their thing. It will be a 2 day shoot but Simon has asked me to stay for the full 4 days because whilst I get paid handsomely for the 2 days i.e. more than most people earn in 2 weeks, I will be amongst 35,000 visitors from the UK and many other countries and these people are all in the photography business. I know some of the very profitable contracts they have won over the 9 years they have been going to that show. This is a great boost to my business and what a prestigious contract to get for me! I will be selling my services to those who see me in action and will also be promoting Total Mast Solutions' equipment to the public. I think that’s one of those win- win situations we all hear of.
Thanks Simon
N.B. I almost forgot to say it has another income stream - I will be photographing for the show organiser through Total Mast Solutions but I will also be able to sell these photographs to the exhibitors direct!
